About Seed Keyword

What is Seed Keyword?

Seed Keyword is a free keyword research tool that helps bloggers, marketers, video creators, and product owners discover what people are actually searching for. Type a single seed keyword, and the tool recursively expands it into hundreds of related ideas pulled from the live autocomplete data of Google, YouTube, and Naver. No login. No paywall. No artificial limits.

Why It Exists

Most keyword tools either lock the useful features behind expensive subscriptions or require a steep learning curve before you can find anything actionable. Seed Keyword was built on a simpler premise: autocomplete suggestions are the highest-fidelity signal of real user intent, they are publicly available, and they should be free to explore. The goal is to give a solo blogger or a small marketing team the same starting point that a large agency would have, in seconds, with zero friction.

Who Built It

Seed Keyword is built and maintained by Hyunjin Lee, an independent software engineer with a background in search infrastructure, performance engineering, and content tooling. The project is an indie effort — there is no team, no investors, and no growth targets pushing the product in directions that hurt users. Feedback, bug reports, and feature suggestions are read by one person and often acted on within days.

Where the Data Comes From

Every suggestion shown in Seed Keyword originates from the public autocomplete endpoints that Google, YouTube, and Naver expose to power their own search bars. We do not maintain a private keyword database, do not scrape rankings, and do not estimate search volume. The advantage of this approach is freshness: every search reflects what the underlying platform is surfacing at that exact moment, including trending topics that have not yet appeared in any commercial SEO dataset.

Operating Principles

Three principles guide every decision about the tool. First, stay free for the core use cases that matter most to small creators. Second, respect user privacy — no tracking beyond what is required to operate the service, no selling of data, no aggressive remarketing. Third, keep the interface honest: no fake metrics, no inflated numbers, no dark patterns nudging users toward a paid upgrade that does not exist.
